Discover the recipe for tiramisu, a creamy and velvety Italian dessert that no one ever wants to share. This family recipe is delightful with mascarpone and ladyfinger biscuits soaked in a coffee and Amaretto mixture. The texture is perfect, and the tiramisu holds its shape well when cut, making it arguably the best recipe.

Ingredients

  • For 4 People:
    • Mascarpone: 250 g
    • Eggs: 3
    • Sugar: 100 g
    • Strong Coffee: 20 cl
    • Amaretto: 2 tablespoons
    • Ladyfinger Biscuits: 20
    • Cocoa Powder: a few pinches

      Preparation

  • Total Time: 3 hours 20 minutes
  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 0 minutes

    1. For the Cream

Vigorously whisk 3 egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture becomes pale and frothy. Then add the mascarpone and mix until the result is smooth and well combined.

    2. For the Whipped Egg Whites

Beat 3 egg whites to firm peaks, adding a pinch of salt, then fold them into the mascarpone cream. Be careful to keep the mixture fluffy and light; do not "break" the whites. Gently fold from top to bottom with a silicone spatula, rotating your bowl a quarter turn each time.

    3. For the Coffee Syrup

Prepare a large cup of strong coffee, preferably espresso. Add the Amaretto, an Italian almond liqueur that will incredibly flavor your dessert, and mix.

    4. For the Assembly

Trim the ends of the biscuits so they fit perfectly against the walls of your dish. Use the trimmed pieces to fill in any gaps in the center of your tiramisu. Spread a layer of the mascarpone cream on the bottom of the dish, then place a layer of biscuits lightly soaked in the coffee and Amaretto.

    Finishing and Serving

Repeat the process, ending with a layer of mascarpone cream which you will dust with bitter cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
