Thank You Marylou heads to Kentucky Oaks

Thank You Marylou heads to Kentucky Oaks: Thank You Marylou is a three-year-old filly and contender in this year’s Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs on May 2, 2014. Thank You Marylou is in the 12th place position on the Kentucky Oaks leader board with a total of 20 points. Exercise rider Joel Barrientos galloped Thank You Marylou on friday, April 25, 2014 and will return to the Churchill Downs track on Sunday according to trainer Mike Maker.

Thank You Marylou was foaled on January 26th, 2011 by sire Birdstone and Dam Menifeeque and bred by Mr. and Mrs. C.W. McNeely III. Thank You Marylou comes from a good pedigree as Birdstone won the 2004 Belmont Stakes. Thank You Marylou will team up with jockey Julien R. Leparoux for the 2014 Kentucky Oaks and the filly is trained by Michael J. Maker. Maker was an assistant for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas and has trained award winning horses including Hansen, and Eclipse Award Winner and Derby Kitten and Stately Victor. Thank You Marylou is owned by Ramsey, Kenneth L. and Sara K. The Ramseys have owned multiple stakes winners including Kitten’s Joy, Roses in May, Precious Kitten, and Pleasant Prince.
