For a classic hotel stay, try the Hyatt Regency Lexington, a hotel that offers great views and is in the heart of downtown. The Hyatt provides an indoor heated pool, outdoor sun decks, a 24-hour gym, and a free airport shuttle, and it is located near such Lexington amenities as the Blue Fire Bar & Grill and The Shops at Lexington Center.

For a more tranquil stay during Breeders’ Cup week, try the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa. This hotel offers free wi-fi and mobile check-in, but even more appealing is its offerings of a full spa and golf. The Spa at Griffin Gate offers luxury spa services like hot stone treatments, massages, body wraps, facials, and more. The Griffin Gate Golf Club provides rentals, lessons, a clubhouse, and golf shop, and while there is a greens fee, kids can golf for free. The resort also has fabulous dining and fitness facilities.

For something a little cozier and off the beaten path, try the Lyndon House. This stay fosters a homey environment with coffee and a homemade breakfast prepared by the innkeeper. There are modern amenities like wi-fi and an elevator, and it is within walking distance to downtown. It’s the perfect place to have a more relaxed, cozy experience.

Another great option is the Clarion Hotel in Lexington near the Kentucky Horse Park and other areas like Rupp Arena, Fayette Mall, and Commonwealth Stadium. Amenities include a fitness center, green practice, a lounge and bar, sun decks, a business center, a free full breakfast, and an indoor heated pool. There is also a special area to walk dogs, and the hotel is pet-friendly.

Another option is couch surfing or renting a room from the popular website airbnb.com. Our search results find that there are still rooms available in Lexington starting at only $90!

Whichever of these four places you choose to stay, you will be sure to have a great visit in Lexington for the 2015 Breeders’ Cup.
