The Amazing Eblouissante Dazzles Her Way To Victory

Horse racing fans across America waited all day for the amazing Eblouissante to start and win the second race of her short career. Half sister to Zenyatta, Eblouissante is now two for two! The dark bay filly was brought to the finish line by jockey Corey Nakatani at Santa Anita Park. She broke out of post position number five. This was her first start on dirt.

Eblouissante broke her maiden on November 16, 2012 at Betfair Hollywood Park. She immediately won the hearts of racing fans not only because of her first place victory that day, but also because of her relation to the great Zenyatta. Zenyatta won 19 of her 20 starts and is considered to be one of the most beloved horses of all time. It seems Eblouissante may follow in Zenyatta’s horse shoe prints! Personally, Eblouissante won my heart because her charming name means “Dazzling” in French!

Eblouissante’s trainer Mr. John Shirreffs appeared extremely happy and stated that this will be the first of many stakes races the four-year-old Bernardini will run this season. John Shirreff also trained Zenyatta. Eblouissante is owned by Eric Kronfeld and is based at Hollywood Park.

Lady and The Track would like to congratulate John Shirreff, Eric Kronfeld, Corey Nakatani, and the gorgeous Eblouissante! We are looking forward to writing many stories about your success!
