Chocolate Wildcat and jockey Javier Castellano were the only challengers in the Tremont after Bessie’s Boy broke clean and led the pack around the Belmont Park track with ease.

Jockey John Velazquez who was onboard Bessie’s Boy for the 2014 Tremont win said, “I just broke and held on. We were expecting that somebody was going to go to the lead and I tried to put him behind horses. I couldn’t put him behind horses, so I just let him do whatever he wanted to do after that. Pretty easy.”

Bessie’s Boy, who was bred by Charles Zacney, has now won two races back to back, the first being a Maiden Special Weight at Pimlico on April 17, 2014. Bessie’s Boy has earned $82,800 in his young two-year-old career thus far.

In related news, trainer Wesley Ward won a race at Royal Ascot this week with another one of his two-year-old trainees proving he has what it takes to turn juveniles into champions.
