Royal Ascot Schedule 2014; Stakes Times and Ascot Info: The 2014 Royal Ascot will be held from June 17th-21st. The Royal Ascot is beyond horse racing. It is a prestigious event held around the Ascot Racecourse located in Ascot. Ascot is a small town located in Berkshire, United Kingdom. The Royal Ascot is filled with a rich history dating all the way back to Queen Anne in 1711 and the first four day event being held in 1768.

Some of fashion’s elite will attend the Royal Ascot and certainly the who’s who of British and Horse Racing Society. The Royal Ascot is perhaps the most fashion conscious horse racing event worldwide.

There are three different enclosures at Ascot that race guests can enjoy at the 2014 Royal Ascot. There is the Royal Enclosure, which provides the traditional Royal Ascot experience, but it does require an invitation from a Royal Enclosure member. The Grandstand is located close to the Parade Ring and offers pre-race activities and action leading up to the horse racing along with restaurants and bars. The Silver Ring enclosure is located right on the straight mile and it offers a great view of the Royal Procession as well as a deli and other place to dine. The Silver Ring is the perfect place to be after the races where there will be a party and a live house band.

The gates to all the 2014 Royal Ascot festivities will open at 10:30am, but if you arrive early, a morning breakfast is available.

The Royal Ascot is no joke when it comes to fashion. Some of fashion’s elite will be there and certainly the who’s who of British and Horse Racing Society. This is perhaps the most fashion conscious horse racing event worldwide. So it is time to break out your most formal day wear. In fact, depending on which enclosure you are in, certain dress code is required. To make sure that you are dressed appropriately go ahead and follow the dress guidelines for the Royal Enclosure even if you are planning to have a blast in the Silver Ring. At this type you don’t want to risk looking underdressed.

Take note however, that formal daywear is most certainly different from formal night time dress. It would be inappropriate to wear gowns or floor length ball gowns. Your skirt or dress must be below the knee, tea length is perfect and your top must be covered as well. Nothing sleeveless, or halter or spaghetti strap and anything bearing midriff or too sexy would be completely gauche at an event like this. Fascinators will not even be allowed, it is time for a full on formal wide brimmed hat. Not a floppy beach wide brimmed hat, but a structured and sculpted wide brimmed hat.

You do not have to dress as formally at other enclosures, but there is no harm in dressing at the top of your game and follow the Royal Enclosure guidelines. Try a tea length dress with some sort of luxe and elegant detailing like lace overlay or a full tea length skirt.

You do not have to look far to find celebrity fashion inspiration for the Royal Ascot, in fact, actual royals even come out for the event. Check out Pippa Middleton and Kelly Brook for 2014 Royal Ascot fashion inspiration.
