President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Yumiko Ittogi are on an official three-day visit to Belgium. Traditionally, a state banquet was held on the first evening of their visit at the Castle of Laeken. After dazzling in a total pink look during the day, Queen Mathilde captured everyone’s attention in the evening with her stunning cream-colored gown.

The gown, a creation by designer Pierre Gauthier, was previously worn by her in 2016 in the Netherlands. This long-sleeved dress featured a semi-transparent bodice adorned with embroidery that strikingly contrasted with her grand purple sash of the Order of Leopold, the royal color. A glittery clutch perfectly completed her gala outfit.

As for her jewelry, Queen Mathilde made a bold choice. While she typically wears the Nine Provinces Tiara, a symbol of Belgian queens, the blonde opted this time for a personal jewel. The mother of four wore a laurel wreath tiara from her own collection, a piece that was given to her at her wedding to Philippe (then Prince) in 1999.

To round off her ensemble, Mathilde d’Udekem d’Acoz chose exquisite pendant earrings in the shape of bows, adorned with a cascade of diamonds. At 52, the former speech therapist was the epitome of elegance, representing Belgium with grace.
