Disneyland Hosts Fashion Week for the First Time
For the first time ever, Disneyland opened its magical gates to the world of fashion during Fashion Week. Taking center stage was Coperni, who had the privilege of showcasing their collection in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. The collection quickly became a sensation on social media, partly due to a handbag inspired by Cinderella’s glass slippers!
Fashion Under the Fairy Tale Lights
On October 1, 2024, Disneyland Paris transformed into a spectacular runway for an evening. Coperni was the first brand to unveil its Spring-Summer 2025 collection in this enchanting setting, creating quite a buzz online.
This wasn’t the first time the French label captured the internet’s attention. Back in 2022, a video of Bella Hadid wearing a dress painted directly on her body for the Spring-Summer 2023 show went viral. This year, designers Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant drew inspiration from the Disney princess universe. The collection featured romantic ruffled dresses, shoulder pads, nods to Maleficent’s horns, shoes reminiscent of Mickey Mouse ears, and puffed sleeves, each look evoking a piece of childhood nostalgia.
A Show in Three Acts
The fashion show unfolded like a three-act movie. The first act brought vintage nostalgia with classic Mickey t-shirts, one of which Coperni famously purchased on Vinted for less than 10 euros and went viral. The second act paid homage to Disney’s villains with monochrome and structured outfits. The final act portrayed the modern princess with a fresh take on classic silhouettes.
However, beyond the fireworks and Kylie Jenner, who walked in a stunning black strapless gown, it was a handbag that truly captured the audience’s attention: the iconic “Swipe” bag by the brand. Known for its unique rounded shape, the Swipe bag is reinvented every season, showcasing Coperni’s commitment to technological innovation. Following versions made of 99% air, meteorite material, and blown glass, this time Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant introduced a sparkling, translucent crystal variant, reminiscent of Cinderella’s glass slippers.
A Crystal Creation with Swarovski
In collaboration with Swarovski, the new version of Coperni’s Swipe bag featured 171 polished crystal facets and weighed 1.7 kg. This ambitious project required over 110 hours of craftsmanship! Though it’s unlikely this bag will hit the shelves, it has certainly succeeded in making us feel a wave of nostalgia.
“When we designed this SS25 collection, largely inspired by fairy tales and princesses, we thought it would be extraordinary to create the most dreamlike Swipe ever, made entirely from a giant Swarovski stone. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Swarovski multiple times, and it’s always exciting to see how the house evolves and innovates,” explained Arnaud Vaillant to Harper’s Bazaar.
