Exploring Julianne Moore’s Surprisingly Ordinary Wardrobe
Julianne Moore has long been a celebrated figure in Hollywood, known for her memorable roles in films like “Short Cuts” (1993), “Safe” (1995), “Nine Months” (1995), and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (1997). While she graces the red carpets of the Oscars and Golden Globes in chic and elegant outfits, she reveals that this is far from her everyday attire.
Julianne Moore’s Fashion Evolution in 25 Iconic Looks
Despite her frequent appearances in gorgeous gowns and tailored suits at award ceremonies, and her presence in the front row at fashion shows, particularly for designer brand Bottega Veneta (where she is also the face of their latest campaign), she tells Harper’s Bazaar UK that these looks don’t define her personal style. Moore describes her wardrobe as “pretty normal.” “I need to wear sneakers or boots because I’m always on the subway, and I like having a good coat, a good jacket, and I’m really into my jeans and trousers… I have a very, very functional urban wardrobe,” she explains.
Moore prefers comfort and authenticity over glamour. In an interview with L’Officiel, she discusses her “weird relationship with fashion.” “In real life, I love it, yet at the same time, I don’t like drawing attention. In New York, I want to look normal and blend in with everyone else,” she continues.
Even though the actress with the signature vibrant red hair is often in the spotlight, she chooses to keep a lower profile. “For me, fashion isn’t armor. It’s probably the opposite. I feel exposed. If what I wear makes me stand out, I feel even more exposed. That’s why I wear nothing in real life that might make me stand out,” she tells the French media.
The True Lesson from Bottega Veneta’s Latest Muse
The new face of Bottega Veneta wears clothes that truly represent and resemble her—nothing too extravagant. She offers a real lesson: true fashion is about comfort and reflecting our personalities.
