Two-tone leaf-shaped cookies caught my eye with their stunning design. With the holiday season approaching, it’s the perfect time to think about making these visually appealing Christmas cookies, which I truly enjoyed creating. They were a hit during a cozy snack time paired with delicious hot chocolate.

Ingredients

– 20 Christmas cookies

– 180g of flour
– 90g of sugar
– 100g of butter
– 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
– 50g of sugar for decoration

Preparation

1. Dough Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). In the bowl of your mixer, combine the butter, sugar, egg, and flour. Knead until the dough is smooth and even. Split the dough into two equal parts. Mix the cocoa powder into one of the halves. Wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour or more.

2. Shaping the Leaf Cookies

Take 7g pieces from each part of the dough (plain and cocoa) and roll them into small 4cm long logs. Join one plain and one cocoa log side by side. Pinch the ends to form a leaf shape.

3. Finishing the Cookies

Place them on a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Press in lines to simulate the veins of a leaf, then dip the cookies into the sugar for decoration.

Cooking

Bake the two-tone cookies for 15 minutes. After baking, place them on a cooling rack. Serve them on a beautiful plate, decorated in Christmas colors, accompanied by a warming cup of hot chocolate.
