Belmont Park Champagne Stakes 2014 Events & Fashion

Belmont Park Champagne Stakes 2014 Events & Fashion: The 2014 Champagne Stakes will be held on Saturday, October 4th at Belmont Park in New York. The Champagne Stakes is a Grade 1 race with a $500,000 purse. Six 2-year-old horses will run one-mile on the dirt track for points on the 2015 Kentucky Derby Trail. The first place finisher will receive 10 points, second place 4 points, third place 2 points, and fourth place will walk away with 1 point on the Kentucky Derby leader board.

What to do at the Champagne Stakes Belmont Park…

The Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park is the 8th race of the day with a post time of 4:29 PM ET. There are a total of ten races on the Belmont Saturday card, three of which are stakes races including the Frizette for two-year-old fillies. Both the Champagne and Frizette are great races to watch and participate in as they will showcase potential colts and fillies that will make it to the 2015 Kentucky Derby and 2015 Kentucky Oaks.

Besides the Champagne Stakes, Belmont will be hosting plenty of fun activities throughout the day. October 4th is also Fabulous Fillies Day. All fans who are wearing pink will receive free admission into the park and for a $10 donation to Breast Cancer Research Foundation each patron will receive a ticket for sampling for Chili festival.

This year will mark the 1st Annual Chili Festival at Belmont. For $10 each person receives free samples from five local restaurants and then you vote on your favorite. Again, all proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The participating restaurants are Park Place, Shackleton’s, Dee Dee’s Luncheonette, Tulip’s Catering, and Murphy’s Bar and Grill.

What to wear to the Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park…

The 2014 fall fashion season had many great trends to boast, but there is no greater trend then doing good and brining awareness to an important cause. Normally, you want to stand out with your fashion choices, but why not support breast cancer research at Belmont this Saturday and wear pink! There are plenty of fashionable choices to pick from that still expresses your great style.

Try a great pink shift dress with beading detail at the collar. If your style is more girly and feminine, then try a sweet fit and flare pink lace dress with a ribbon bow sash. If pink all over is too much for you then try separates. There is plenty of punch in a great pink knee length skirt or really bright patent pink stilettos.

You can even top off your 2014 Champagne Stakes look with pink. If you are daring you can try a gorgeous pink headpiece with a crystal broach and silk leaves found at Fashion at the Races.

Another way to wear your pink is to actually choose accessories that are pink and that support breast cancer research as well. For instance, if you think you will get chilly at the track then you can wear a hot pink pashmina with the breast cancer logo.

When choosing your pink, consider your skin tone. Hot pink looks best on tan warmer skin tones and pale pinks look best on fair skin. Normally, I wouldn’t suggest you match your makeup to your outfit, but in this case, pink hues in your makeup will look great against your pink outfit. Thankfully, pink is a pretty universally flattering color.

This Saturday, sport your pink and have fun at the Belmont Park races, while supporting a great cause!
