Woodward Stakes 2014 Events, Fashion, Odds: The Woodward Stakes is held at Saratoga Race Track in New York. It takes place on Saturday, August 30, 2014. It is a grade 1 race with a GI $600,000 purse and it runs at 1 1/8 for 3-year-olds and up on a dirt track. The Woodward Stakes will be sure to bring plenty of excitement but there is more that Saratoga will offer on race day.

What to do on Woodward Stakes Day…

The Final Stretch Festival will be taking place On Woodward Stakes Day. It is an all-day event and part of a two-day festival to mark the culmination of the Saratoga racing season. There will be live music downtown and at the track including Rich Ortiz, Scotty Mac and the Goldtops, and the Marc Berger Band. For other acts and locations check Saratoga.com.

There will be activities for the whole family to enjoy on Woodward Stakes Day. There will be promotional giveaway items for each paid admission at the track including a Saratoga Baseball Cap.

After the races, the Final Stretch Music Festival will move to the downtown area from 7:00 pm-11:00 pm and admission is free. Shops and restaurants will also be staying open late for final-stretch shoppers and partygoers. Saturday will also have historic Woodward highlights including the 61st running of the Woodward anchors all as a part of Woodward Day.

What to Wear on Woodward Stakes Day…

Since it is Labor Day Weekend and you will want to enjoy festivities from day to night, why not go all out in an all-white ensemble. Traditionally, Labor Day marks the last weekend it is appropriate to wear white before the fall season, so it is the perfect time to get decked out in white and celebrate the end of the summer season and the end of the Saratoga racing season.

In order to keep your look both day and night time appropriate and to look chic and fresh, make sure to keep your look structured and ladylike. Try a ladylike all white dress and have a real Marilyn moment. If you prefer something more modern and edgy try a white blazer over your all white look. You can even finish off your look with white extras like a white heel and a white hat.
