California Chrome Wins Belmont Stakes Crowd

California Chrome Wins Belmont Crowd: Crowd favorite California Chrome wins the crowd over at the 146th Running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 7, 2014. The heavy favorite won the 2014 Kentucky Derby, the 2014 Preakness, and now will give his heart to Belmont Park as he makes his way down the final stretch of the Triple Crown.

California Chrome is the heavy favorite and is on a winning streak after crossing the finish line first in all six of his last races. Steven Coburn and Martin Perry own the three-year-old son of Lucky Pulpit. California Chrome is trained by Art Sherman and will have regular rider Victor Espinoza on the mount for the 2014 Belmont Stakes.

Winning the 2014 Belmont Stakes and the Triple Crown will not be an easy feat for the fan-favorite California Chrome. California Chrome will go up against ten other talented horses including Medal Count, Matterhorn, Commanding Curve, Ride On Curlin, Matuszak, Samraat, Commissioner, Wicked Strong, General A Rod, and Tonalist.

The 2014 Belmont Stakes is the 11th race of the day with an approximate post time of 6:52 PM ET. NBC will begin coverage of the 146th Running of the Belmont Stakes at 4:30 PM ET.
