Trackside Breakfast At Gulfstream Park Review

Za Approval trotting around Gulfstream Park’s trackside breakfast for fans before his big win in race #8 on Saturday January 1, 2013.

Gulfstream Park offers a trackside breakfast every Saturday until April from 7:00am-10:00am. Some of the Lady and The Track team visited Gulfstream this past Saturday and had a wonderful time at the family-friendly event and recommends the breakfast to families and fans alike.

Gulfstream Park’s $8.00 trackside buffet breakfast is open to the public and includes a tee-shirt with every breakfast purchase, a tour through Gulfstream’s barn area, and the opportunity to witness morning workouts by some of horseracing’s most famous thoroughbreds. The LATT team was fortunate enough to witness Za Approval breeze around the track shortly before winning race #8 at Gulfstream Park all while enjoying their breakfast. Za Approval was ridden by Joel Rosario and is trained by Christophe Clement.

Saturday’s event included a Q&A by world famous horseracing announcer Larry Collmus. Announcer Larry Collmus is best know for calling a race by two horses named Mywifenosevrything and Thewifedoesntknow on August 22, 2010 at Monmouth Park. Mywifenosevrything and Thewifedoesntknow ended up in the final stretch and the audio of Larry Collmus calling the race is extremely hilarious and earned thousands of views on YouTube. Larry Collmus took his time answering many questions from fans that attended Saturday’s trackside breakfast.

The Lady and The Track team thoroughly enjoyed their time at Gulfstream Park and encourages any horseracing fan to take advantage of the trackside event. The tiki setting is tropical and relaxing while you enjoy your eggs and bacon. The Gulfstream Park employees were knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly. To add to the fun, a friendly horse named Chili was on hand to eat carrots. Kids could feed Chili and even had the opportunity to sit on him for a photo op. The barn tour was exciting for the kids as well. Not only was the tour operated from the comfort of a tram (train ride for kids), a friendly Farrier stopped what he was doing in his busy day to run out and give all the kids on the tram an autographed horseshoe. This was the highlight of the tour for our smallest staff member!

Lady and The Track gives the trackside breakfast at Gulfstream Park 5 stars for their generosity towards kids and horse racing fans. For more information on Gulfstream Park visit www.gulfstreampark.com/racing.
