Sham Stakes 2013: Can Goldencents Take The Win?
Goldencents is a fan favorite for the 2013 Sham Stakes at Santa Anita Park.
The 2013 Sham Stakes takes place tomorrow Saturday January 5 at Santa Anita Park. There are six official entries in the $100,000 one-mile Sham for three-year-olds. Goldencents breaks from post position number two in the 2013 Sham Stakes and already seems to be an early favorite amongst fans and experts.
Goldencents is the winner of the 2012 Delta Down Jackpot where he earned 10 points towards his entry in the 2013 Kentucky Derby. Winning the 2013 Sham will award the three-year-old colt another 10 points and make him a favorable contender for the Kentucky Derby. Experts suggest that Goldencents is the horse to beat at Santa Anita Park on Saturday. He is said to have worked a fantastic six-furlong on December 27 to prep for the Sham. I’m no expert, but I would highly recommend rooting for Goldencents. He’s beautiful, fast, and is a product of Doug O’Neill, who is on fire right now!
Goldencents is trained by world famous Doug O’Neill and owned by WC Racing, Dave Kenney, and Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino. Jockey Kevin Krigger will be the jockey aboard Goldencents for the 2013 Sham Stakes.
Lady and The Track would like to wish Doug O’Neill, WC Racing, Dave Kenney, coach Rick Pitino, jockey Kevin Krigger, and the amazing Goldencents the best of luck during the 2013 Sham Stakes.
The 2013 Sham Stakes is set for Saturday January 5 at Santa Anita Park with a 4:31 PM EST post time.
