Sham Stakes 2013: Greeley Awesome

The 2013 Sham Stakes takes place this Saturday at Santa Anita Park on the one-mile main track. There are six official entries in the $100,000 Sham. Greeley Awesome is a contender to watch as he breaks from post position number three in the 2013 Sham Stakes.

Kentucky Derby winner Mario Gutierrez will team up with Greeley Awesome for the 2013 Sham Stakes. Greeley Awesome is trained by world famous trainer Doug O’Neill and is owned by Neil Haymes, Robert Master, and Robert Verratti. The three-year-old colt is the son of Mr. Greeley and Dattts Awesome.

The 2013 Sham Stakes is the first stakes race for Greeley Awesome. He won his seventh race for the first time in November 2012. Although Greeley Awesome may not be a favorite among the experts, we here at LATT feel that with jockey Mario Gutierrez aboard, the team is going to do very well at the Sham and predict them to finish in the final three.

Lady and The Track would like to wish Mario Gutierrez, Doug O’Neill, Neil Haymes, Robert Master, Robert Verratti, and the beautiful Greeley Awesome the best of luck during the 2013 Sham Stakes!

The 2013 Sham Stakes is set for Saturday January 5 at Santa Anita Park with a 4:31 PM EST post time.
