CashCall Futurity 2012 Results: Violence Takes Win

Todd Pletcher, Javier Castellano, and Violence took first place on Saturday at the 2012 CashCall Futurity. This racing trio has heart and my prediction is that the two-year-old colt Violence will be a major player at the racetrack next year.

Violence, a Black Rock Stable colt, gained the lead in the 2012 CashCall quite quickly. Once he was the front-runner, Violence ran his little heart out until he reached the finish line. There was no way Violence was going to let anyone pass him on the Betfair Hollywood Park track! This win speaks to me. Hard work pays off!

Trainer Todd Pletcher said, “He’s a big, leggy colt that we felt like was going to continue to improve and mature. After he won first time out, we talked about a couple of strategies. One was to try and make the Breeders’ Cup and the other was a more patient strategy. We decided to wait on the Nashua and when he ran so well in there, we started looking at whether we wanted to run him back in 20 days in the Remsen, put him away for the winter, or look for something else.”

Furi Kapcori and Bob Baffert’s Den’s Legacy finished the 2012 CashCall Futurity in second and third place.

Violence, Javier Castellano, and Todd Pletcher placed first at the 2012 CashCall Futurity.
