Preakness Picks by Horse Racing Expert Vito Salatino

Vito Salatino is a Horse Racing Expert that resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Vito is a friendly guy that can be spotted at Gulfstream Park regularly watching the horses around the paddock. The New York native is one of the best handicappers we’ve ever met. Vito told us he felt great about Orb immediately before his Florida Derby win back in March. Vito also gave us great advice in April for the Santa Anita Derby. Vito picked Goldencents and Flashback who placed first and second!

What are Top Horse Racing Expert Vito Salatino’s thoughts on the 2013 Preakness Stakes?

Vito Salatino stated, “Orb’s workouts have been beyond super. I think if Orb stays out of trouble he will win the Preakness Stakes. He could very well be a Triple Crown winner too. It would be great for the sport but unfortunately horses have failed at the Triple Crown challenge over and over again. As a bettor, I know there will not be any value betting on Orb in the Preakness or even in the Belmont if he wins the second jewel this week. Orb will be the odds favorite. I’ll be betting against him on the value principle alone.”

When asked who he will be betting on Vito replied, “My long shot play for this week’s Preakness Stakes is Mylute with female jockey Rosie Napravnik who finished fifth in the Kentucky Derby. I’ll also play Departed.”

The Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday May 18, 2013 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. Post time is set for 6:20 PM EDT and can be viewed on NBC.
