Godolphin Racing’s multiple grade 1 winner Frosted worked six furlongs in 1.11 at Greentree Training Center in Saratoga on Wednesday after which a decision on whether the colt would start in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (GI) or Dirt Mile (GI) was expected to be announced. However, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin backed off on any revelation and indicated the final decision would actually be made on Thursday, October 20.

Social media erupted on Wednesday with some reports that the decision was made to point the son of Tapit to the Classic, which McLaughlin said is premature.

“(October 20) an announcement will be official,” McLaughlin said via text message.

The trainer said he is still leaning towards the Classic for his charge, but the final choice will be made by Godolphin owner Sheikh Mohammed.
