Tampa Bay Derby 2013: Dynamic Sky & Falling Sky Currently On Leaderboard

The 2013 Tampa Bay Derby takes place this Saturday March 9 at Tampa Bay Downs. The $350,000 Derby prep race is the 10th race of the day with a 5:15 PM EST Post Time. The Tampa Bay Derby is run on a 1 1/16 mile dirt track for three-year-olds.

The Tampa Bay Derby is part of the official “Road To The Kentucky Derby” and will award the first place winner with 50 points towards their 2013 Kentucky Derby entry. Falling Sky and Dynamic Sky are both already on the 2013 Kentucky Derby Leaderboard. Falling Sky currently has 10 points, Dynamic Sky 8.

The Tampa Bay Derby field is set with nine powerful horses. Fan favorites include Purple Egg, who is undefeated in all three of his career starts, and Verrazano, who is all the rage on social media sites. The pictures in the gallery below were taken locally by a fan of Park City and Offlee Fast.
