What to wear to Parx Racing on Pennsylvania Derby Day…
The weather is getting a little cooler but it’s still not quite into the full on cool fall weather, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start wearing some of this fall season’s most prevalent trends. Try out the plaid trend. Plaid is big every fall season and this 2014 season is no different. Try a great traditional plaid print dress in an unexpected spaghetti strap day dress type style. For an edgier look, try a plaid dress with architectural black piping that makes the plaid a little more unexpected and gives a nod to the punk and grunge trend while still looking lady like. If plaid all over is too much for you, than just try one plaid piece. You can also choose a plaid with fewer stripes, which helps subdue the plaid print. Try a plaid skirt with a pop of teal or this sleeveless plaid blouse to still give a nod to the plaid trend, but in a more subtle kind of way.
You can also add a little hint of plaid in your accessories, just make sure not to go plaid head to toe, or you will lose the wow factor of one great plaid piece. Try feminine and spunky red plaid heels to spice up a neutral outfit, or top off your look with a plaid headpiece, like a sweet plaid headband in place of a hat or fascinator. You can also choose a fascinator that matches one of the colors in your plaid outfit in order to polish off your look.
Your plaid look will carry you through all the race excitement and after race fun at Parx this Saturday for the 2014 Pennsylvania Derby and Cotillion Stakes!
