Iconic Paris Boutique Loved by Mireille Darc Makes Surprise Return This Week!

Reviving a Parisian Fashion Landmark Loved by Celebrities

Favored by stars such as Mireille Darc, Rihanna, and Karl Lagerfeld, this Parisian fashion sanctuary, always a step ahead in trends, is making a comeback this week.

Some reminisce about the sweet scent that once filled the air of this renowned Paris store. Others recall the vibrant Klein blue and the two filled circles that adorned its windows and the iconic white bag, key elements of its graphic identity. Finally, some remember that elite shoppers from around the globe frequented this store either to purchase or simply window-shop. Among the well-heeled clientele was Karl Lagerfeld, who would do his shopping just before 7 PM on Saturdays. Rumor has it that Mireille Darc would sit at the “Water Bar counter” sipping a “carrot/ginger juice completely incognito.” (Le Nouvel Obs)

A Paradise for Decor Aficionados and Organizational Gurus

Those with a keen eye for decor (and/or followers of Marie Kondo) were delighted by the perfectly arranged shelves and racks, where aesthetically pleasing objects from various artistic realms mingled in a wonderfully creative yet impeccably organized chaos. The offerings included sneakers, beautiful books, music, beauty products, food and drink, and, of course, trendy clothing and accessories. “StyleDesignArtFood” was the motto of this leader among concept stores.

A true temple of the five senses, this shop located in Paris was “the place to be” for those looking to spot trends early. Founders Colette Roussaux and her daughter Sarah Andelman showcased numerous emerging designers there. Closed in 2017, it is reborn this year for a limited time. Until October 9, trend hunters, aesthetes, and fashionistas can once again roam the aisles of the iconic colette boutique.

Pop-Up Homage in a Legendary Space

In a pop-up store format, enthusiasts can experience its golden age once again. Located in the Grand Palais—not at its original 213 rue Saint-Honoré address—this 2.0 version of the famous concept store actually serves as the setting for an exhibition paying tribute to the creative work of Virgil Abloh, former artistic director at Louis Vuitton.

“Virgil Abloh: The Codes” showcases nearly 20 years of creation with 2,000 archive pieces displayed out of 20,000 stored. Sketches, computers, USB drives, t-shirts, sneakers, shoes: it’s all there. The exhibit also features emblematic items branded by colette, some of which were designed by the late designer.

A Perfect Match of Multidisciplinary Spirit

The American designer excelled in various artistic realms, aligning perfectly with the multidisciplinary and visionary spirit of colette. Time is ticking: you have only seven days left to dive back into the glorious past of this avant-garde temple.
