When invited to a gala, Carla sought style inspiration from her mother, Daniela Lumbroso, a well-known television host and producer, and daughter of Eric Ghebali, the former Secretary-General of SOS Racisme. Carla chose to revive three of her mother’s old dresses. The first outfit featured was a cherished long pink dress that Daniela had kept for “25 to 30 years,” prized for its “simplicity,” as she mentioned in the video.

For the second try-on, Carla pulled out a strapless gown that combined lace and black satin, originally worn in 2008. While her mother was fond of this dress, Carla was not as enthusiastic, candidly describing it as resembling “an old aunt’s wedding dress.” The third dress, a piece from Antik Batik, was unanimously decided as a miss by both women. Daniela Lumbroso pointed out that it didn’t fit well, saying, “in terms of width and length, it just doesn’t work.”

Although the mother-daughter duo seemed to agree on the appeal of the first dress, online viewers focused their attention elsewhere. Surprisingly, many commenters expressed a preference for seeing Daniela herself in the dresses rather than her daughter.
Comments such as “I don’t know why but I prefer the dresses on your mom,” “Why do the dresses look sublime on Daniela and less so on her daughter?” and “The dresses are beautiful but they look better on the mom.” populated the video’s comment section.
