Belmont Stakes Travel Tips; Fuel Up for the 2014 Belmont Stakes and Chow Down at Top Notch Local Eateries: Even though New York City boasts some of the world’s top rated restaurants and chefs, Long Island can certainly hold its own. When you are in town for the 2014 Belmont Stakes on June 7th, there is no need to travel too far, when fine dining is just around the corner.

While planning your visit to New York for the 146th Running of the Belmont Stakes, make reservations at the upscale restaurant North Fork Table & Inn.

For an all American meal at a typical New York beach town upscale restaurant try out the North Fork Table & Inn. The meals are a little pricey and you do have to make advanced reservations, but it is well worth it. The menu changes so be sure to check out their website to be up to date. For newer and more modern American food try the Chachama Grill, which boasts a delicious steak night every Wednesday. For something much less expensive and equally as delicious try out The Cook Room. It is kid friendly, relaxed, well-priced, and serves tasty food.

Of course you can’t stay in the beach town of Long Island and not try all the amazing sea food that the town has to offer. Try out Louie’s Oyster Bar and Grille. It has a traditional feel. For an elegant date night over fresh delicious seafood try out the Mill Pond House. The mood is just right and they even serve seafood along with organic salmon and shrimp scampi. If you are looking for fun waterfront dining then try out E.B. Elliot’s Waterfront dining and Bar, which is located on Freeport’s famous Nautical Mile. The restaurant is open year round and has a seasonal menu.

Of course you don’t even have to leave Belmont Park for a great place to eat. Try out the Garden Terrace Dining Room, where they serve an amazing Sunday Brunch spread.
