Santa Anita Park Saturday Stakes Events & Fashion: This Saturday, September 27th, 2014, Santa Anita Park will be hosting a huge day of racing. There will be five Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In Challenge Races. The main races that will be featured are the G1 $300,000 Frontrunner Stakes for two-year-olds, the G1 $300,000 Awesome Again Stakes, The G1 $300,000 Rodeo Drive Stakes on the turf for fillies and mares three years of age and up, the G1 $300,000 Zenyatta Stakes for fillies and mares three-year-olds and up, and the G1 $300,000 Chandelier Stakes for two-year-old fillies. All five races will award it’s winner with an automatic entry into the 2014 Breeders’ Cup starting gate. Additionally, the Front Runner Stakes will award it’s top four finishers points towards the 2015 Kentucky Derby and the Chandelier Stakes will award the top four finishers with points towards the 2015 Kentucky Oaks.

What to do at Santa Anita Park on Saturday…

On such a big day of racing, Santa Anita Park will not be holding back with big events for race patrons. In the Chandelier Room, John Corbett, known for roles in Sex in the City, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Northern Exposure, will be showing off his musical talents. The Chandelier Room is luxurious and will feature premium bottle service and food by Chef Christian Page. Tickets are $75 per person.

Oktoberfest will also be featured at Santa Anita Park on Saturday. The festival will feature beer and bratwurst. It will be a Bavarian bash in the infield beer gardens complete with German food and Dog Haus serving the wurst in a VIP area. There will also be traditional German music from the Bavarian Wunderband. There will also be a costume contest and competitive alphorn blowing, stein holding, and corn toss. Boogie Knights will also be a featured guest playing live rock music. Oktoberfest is $10 with free parking through the Gate 6 entrance.

If you are worried you will miss the big football game, then Santa Anita’s Bud Light Lounge will feature big screens with both races and football games.

What to wear to Santa Anita Park on Saturday…

If you aren’t planning on wearing an Oktoberfest costume, then step out in one fall’s top fashion trends for a day full of festivities at Santa Anita Park. Try a leopard print outfit to carry you from a day of racing all the way through a fun night at the Chandelier Room lounge. Leopard print is sort of a fall fashion staple, but this season it was seen all over the Fall 2014 runways in super lady like structures. There were no femme fatal looks here, just polished feminine garments. Try a leopard peplum shirt or a leopard print dress with black outline. A Nanette Lepore Leopard print dress also has a feminine flare.

For a more subtle animal print try a Rebecca Taylor dress. In keeping with the Leopard print feminine and lady like trend, why not try a sweet leopard print beret rather than the typical fedora or fascinator; just be sure not to pair this beret on top of your leopard print garment. Choose one leopard print piece to feature at a time so that your look doesn’t become too fussy or trashy. Make sure you stay away from anything too tight as well. The look here is feminine, not overtly sexy.
