American Pharoah Halter Tops TRF Gala Auction Items

American Pharoah Halter Tops TRF Gala Auction Items: A halter worn by American Pharoah who became America’s 12th Triple Crown winner this spring, will be among the items available for auction when the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation presents “The Foods of Anne Burrell” at The Canfield Casino, Congress Park, Saratoga Springs, NY on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.

Burrell may be one of the more recognizable chefs on the Food Channel by starring on shows like “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef,” but it is American Pharoah’s halter that is certain to create a stir.

Owned and bred by Ahmed Zayat, trained by Bob Baffert and ridden by jockey Victor Espinoza, American Pharoah became the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes, the “Triple Crown” for three-year-old Thoroughbred racehorses. Along with American Pharoah’s halter, equipment that goes on a horse’s head to help its handler to lead, the winning bidder will also receive a signed letter of authenticity from Baffert.

American Pharoah is scheduled to make his return to racing in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth.

Tickets for “The Foods of Anne Burrell” are $375 each and may be purchased at www.trfinc.org.

For additional information, please contact the TRF at (518) 226-0028.
