Hip 47 – Pure Symmetry – While Pure Symmetry never won any significant races, she carries on two very important bloodlines through her own foals. Pure Symmetry is by breeding making Storm Cat, out of the once in a lifetime mare, Serena’s Song. Pure Symmetry is a half sibling to Group 1 winner in England, Sophisticat, and Grade 2 winner and sire, Harlington. She is also half to multiple mares who have sires horses such as Honor Code and Noble Tune. Pure Symmetry has three winners from four to race and is now back in foal to Take Charge Indy on a May 1st cover.

Hip 90 – Shared Cause – This mare is a newer addition to the breeding world. She has a two-year-old of 2015 and was not pregnant in 2014. With no producing record so far, the pedigree must speak for itself. Shared Cause if my champion sire Giant’s Causeway and out of the Gone West mare, Shared Interest. Shared Interest has a good producing record, as she did produce the Seeking the Gold filly, Cash Run, who won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, the G2 Davona Dale, and the G2 Bonnie Miss Stakes. Shared Interest also produced prominent sire, Forestry, who sired Preakness winner Shackleford. Shared Cause should turn some heads since she is in foal to Belmont winner Union Rags on an April 10 cover.

Hip 207 – Blind Luck – Blind Luck was supposed to be offered in the last sale hosted by Keeneland, but was a late out. She is offered here, hopefully this time not being scratched from the sale. This time, Blind Luck is offered, but she is believed to have aborted her 2014 foal she was carrying by Midnight Lute. Blind Luck’s resume, however, speaks for itself and is likely to make her a sales topper, no matter if she is foal or not.

Hip 236 – Crisis of Spirit – This Vindication mare is from the popular female line that Silverbulletday has graced the Thoroughbred world with. Crisis of Spirit is carrying on the distaff line of the phenomenal mare and was a stakes winner herself while racing. Crisis of Spirit is carrying a 2014 cover by Midnight Lute, last covered on February 12. The Silverbulletday distaff line has crossed very well with the Midnight Lute sire line. Governor Charlie and Shakin It Up are out of Silverbulletway and Silver Bullet Moon and both are by Midnight Lute. Crisis of Spirit has only ever visited Midnight Lute but has yet to have a foal hit the racetrack.

Hip 318 – Humoristica – This unraced daughter of Distorted Humor has a lot of pedigree to back her up. She is offered in the sale as a broodmare prospect. She is out of the Champion Two-Year-Old Filly and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner, Halfbridled. This filly has the quality pedigree to be successful no matter where she ends up.

Hip 327 – Innate Grace – Innate Grace is by the late, great, Pulpit. The four-year-old filly is unraced and offered here as a broodmare prospect. The pedigree of this filly has a lot of old class to it. She is out of the Affirmed mare, Affluent, who was a multiple graded stakes winner. Innate Grace’s third dam was the unbelievable Bayakoa, who won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff twice and was champion older mare twice. Innate Grace is likely to be a smart buy, no matter who gets her.

Hip 143 – Yearling Filly – This newly turned yearling filly is apart of the first crop of Belmont Stakes winner Union Rags. The filly is out of the Seeking the Gold mare, Trappings, who has quite a track record as a producer already. Trappings produced the Offlee Wild filly, She Be Wild, who won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and was named Champion Two-Year-Old Filly. The filly should bring an honest price.

Hip 255 – Yearling Filly – This filly is apart of the first crop by Preakness hero, Shackleford. She is out of the Awesome Again mare, Down by Law. Down by Law is carrying on the distaff line that produced WinStar’s foundation sire, Distorted Humor. The filly should grow up to be a very strong, later maturing, fast horse. She would likely find middle distances to her liking.

Hip 309 – Yearling Colt – this colt is by Breeders’ Cup Classic winner, Ghostzapper. Ghostzapper has formed a reputation for being a sire of very fast, sound horses. Ghostzapper has sired horses such as Judy the Beauty and Moreno. This colt is from a very successful distaff line. Out of the mare Haysee, who is half to Shackleford, the colt has the Oatsee distaff line. This line has produced multiple graded stakes winners such as Shackleford, Afleeting Lady, and Lady Joanne. The colt should bring a pretty penny.
