The Undefeated Galicado Begins 2015 Season in United States

The Undefeated Galicado Begins 2015 Season in United States: The Argentinean Galicado arrived to Ron McAnally’s barn in the United States to prepare for the 2015 season. Galicado is an undefeated horse in his native Argentina in three starts including the Clasico Montevideo (G1) at over 7 ½ furlongs and the Clasico Estrellas Juvenile (G1) at over a mile, the race that made him the Champion Juvenile. As an anecdote, Galicado was ready to be sold but a little bone chip cancelled the transaction. However, the horse had a simple surgery and recovered quickly. Finally Galicado’s owners made the decision to go to the United States to further his career.

Galicado

Galicado is currently undefeated in his home country of Argentina. The three-year-old will debut in the United States, possibly in California, in 2015.

Galicado is a son of Asiatic Boy (Arg) – Galicada (Arg) by Halo Sunshine. He is unbeaten and always winning by several lengths at Hipodromo de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was bred by Haras Abolengo, breeder of G1 winners including the well known Candy Ride and Interprete, a champion sire in Argentina and also Invasor’s broodmare sire. Since Galicado was born in August of 2011, his connections are taking their time with this horse. Galicado is expected to make his three-year-old debut in 2015.

All reports indicate Galicado will start his career in California, but the UAE Derby (G2) in Dubai is still a possibility. Interestingly his sire, Asiatic Boy, won the UAE Derby in 2007 and also was second in the 2008 Dubai World Cup just behind Curlin.

Galicado is an interesting horse with tactical speed and enough stamina to handle two turns. With a good plan he could be a competitive horse in Grade 1 races in the second half of 2015 season in United States.
