The horse bit her sharply on the arm on Sunday, July 21. A video shows the woman, wearing a black baseball cap and a Pink Floyd t-shirt, standing next to the guard. As she posed for the photo, the horse suddenly bit her arm so forcefully that it pulled her towards him.
She screamed in pain and quickly collapsed to the ground, with other tourists rushing to her aid. Commenters on the video criticized the victim’s recklessness for getting too close to the horse.
Known for their bright red tunics and bearskin hats, the guards are one of London’s most recognizable symbols. However, these troops are not merely ceremonial; they are also fully trained soldiers. Typically, the King’s Guard is not permitted to interact with the public.
