This color was omnipresent last year and it looks like it’s making a steadfast comeback this summer. Bright yet gentle, this pastel shade is a favorite at weddings, engagements, and other love-celebrating events. It pairs marvelously with brown, neutral tones like black or white, and other pastel hues such as blush pink or sky blue. Spotted on the runways of leading fashion houses like Balenciaga (Spring-Summer 2025), Georges Hobeika (Fall-Winter 2026), Gucci (Cruise Collection 2025), and Jacquemus (Spring-Summer 2025), it also swept through the apparel racks of popular ready-to-wear brands. Zara, H&M, and Kiabi all featured this shade in their affordably priced collections.

When it seemed the fashion world had shifted its attention to “glacier blue,” the renowned data analyst @databutmakeitfashion revealed that this color is far from fading from the fashion scene; in fact, it’s gaining traction. Interest in this color has surged by 73% compared to the same time last year. At the Cannes Film Festival two weeks ago, singer Joyce Jonathan put it back in the spotlight by donning a dress in this very shade. Clearly, butter yellow is making a strong comeback in the fashion realm.

Butter yellow’s popularity isn’t only because it’s perfect for those wary of bold colors. The color is vibrant yet not overpowering. For those who typically shy away from bright colors, it serves as the ideal middle ground between boldness and stylistic safety.

On the other hand, butter yellow is also easy to mix and match with other colors, and it rarely clashes with the wearer’s skin tone. Once again this year, butter yellow is universally appealing.
