Great News for Budget-Conscious Shoppers (and Their Kids)!
Free clothing stores are a rarity that you don’t stumble upon every day! Yet, a pioneering initiative, already operational in Paris, Lyon, and Toulouse, is set to extend its offerings of complimentary garments across France.
The journey began with the launch of the platform Dressed, designed to recycle and breathe new life into second-hand clothes or those from previous collections that might have minor imperfections. These clothes are offered to financially struggling students. To date, the volunteers at Dressed have distributed over 2,400 items of clothing and recycled more than 600 kilograms!
How to Access These Fashion Freebies
To visit one of the stores in Paris, Lyon, or Toulouse, prospective shoppers need to complete an application via the Dressed mobile app to verify their eligibility. Once approved, you can book a time slot to visit the store and pick out up to 10 items completely free of charge! These items come from partner brands like Bershka, Nike, Célio, Kiabi, and H&M. Depending on the donations, you might also find garments from high-end brands like Ralph Lauren, Zara, or Uniqlo.
Another bonus: the shopping experience is by appointment. This means no long lines or chaotic scrambles through the racks. It’s a fantastic opportunity to recycle unused clothes and provide substantial assistance to students!
Expanding Nationwide
In an interview with Robin Bernaud for BFMTV, Yovann Pigenet, the founder of Dressed, confirmed that the brand would be available throughout France. This expansion is facilitated by the free delivery platform Delivr’aide, which operates in cities like Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, and Marseille.
With such initiatives in place, Dressed is setting a new precedent for sustainable fashion and support for those in need, making it easier for students across the country to access quality clothing without the financial burden.
