Understanding its success is challenging without experiencing it firsthand. Here, everything moves faster. Escalators run continuously, the flow of people never stops, and a constant buzz reminiscent of a busy beehive fills the air. On Saturday afternoons, teenagers gather as if it’s a giant playground, while hurried travelers weave their way between connections. “Even when I’m just passing through, I always end up taking a stroll through the center. It’s impossible to pass by without peeking into the shop windows,” smiles Amel, age 41.<\/p>\n
This place is Westfield Forum des Halles. The name doesn’t fully capture its history. Before becoming this modern temple, it was home to the legendary Baltard’s Halles, followed by an underground shopping center often deemed gloomy in the 1980s. A radical transformation occurred in 2016 with the unveiling of the spectacular Canop\u00e9e des Halles. This wavy, light-filled structure opened up the space, modernized the image, and made people want to linger.<\/p>\n
However, the real secret to its success lies elsewhere. The Forum is connected to the Ch\u00e2telet – Les Halles station, the largest underground station in Europe. Hundreds of thousands of travelers pass through daily, creating a continuous, almost mechanical flow. Added to this is a hybrid offering: one of Europe’s largest cinemas, restaurants, a swimming pool, a media library, and a conservatory.<\/p>\n
The commercial offerings blend staple brands with new trends. Historic fashion retailers like Zara, H&M, and Uniqlo continue to draw crowds, while others are reinventing themselves. For instance, Celio launched its first women’s line, Celio Women, here.<\/p>\n

More than just a shopping center, it has become an extension of the city itself.
