Desigual isn’t the only brand making a strong comeback. Another brand, popular in the 1980s and 1990s, is resurfacing and creating a buzz on social media.<\/p>\n
The Covid pandemic and the resulting lockdowns had severe repercussions for many French brands. Naf Naf, Cama\u00efeu, Gap, Pimkie, Go Sport\u2026 well-known stores faced judicial reorganization. This was also true for Kooka\u00ef, which faced similar challenges in 2023. However, this French label, established in 1983, was famously successful during the 1990s. It even expanded internationally, opening several stores in Asia and Oceania, where it enjoyed significant success in Australia.<\/p>\n
While the French brand had to close several stores and lay off numerous employees in France, it was acquired a few months later by the Antonelle-UJA group. “We are very pleased to have taken over this brand and thus prevent its disappearance. It’s a brand we knew in our youth and hold dear. We are committed to restoring its prestigious reputation,” the group’s president stated in a press release.<\/p>\n
On the other side of the world, in Australia, Kooka\u00ef was taken over in 2017 by businessman Rob Cromb when the Vivarte group put it up for sale. Since then, the French brand has dual nationality and has continuously reinvented itself. Recently, it has reemerged in the spotlight by going viral on social media!<\/p>\n
However, it’s not the French brand that’s causing a stir, but its Australian counterpart! Although the company retains the same name, its creations have evolved. Blazers, dresses, tops, and trousers… each piece blends surfer and bohemian aesthetics with Parisian elegance, and it’s a hit!<\/p>\n
The prices range from 80 to 180 euros, and can be higher for jackets – around 200 to 250 euros. Tops are less expensive, available at 70, as well as 50 and 40 euros depending on the model.<\/p>\n
Concerning customs fees, don’t worry, they are not as expensive as you might think, because Kooka\u00ef also exists in Spain! To order from France, you will have to pay 15 euros, which is likely much less costly than if you were ordering from Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n
